Pop Can Line Drawing

Well, since this was my first project in art 1, I thought it was very interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed the project...once I was able to relax enough to do it. I would say this piece was rather successful because once I got started I was able to relax and have a lot of fun with the project. Having the pop can right in front of me worked really well for me. It made it easier to pick out details I had never really noticed before. What didn't work so well was when I would try to get the details perfect, which made me tense up and affected my drawing. If I could do this project over again I would shade it in. Now that I know how to shade, I think it would make the piece look much better. For me, the most difficult part was trying to do the details on the crushed pop can. It took time to make sure I curved the details with the pop can. Most of all, I learned that I have to keep myself relaxed while drawing. If I tense up, my drawing looks not as smooth compared to one drawn while being relaxed.
